Portofino -- a quaint little village with amazing views from the surrounding hills. Around Portofino there are a couple of churches, a castle, a lighthouse, and an outdoor collection of sculptures to be explored. There is also a monestary to hike to, but we never made the 2-or-so hour hike since we had plenty of hiking coming up in a couple of days. We spent two nights in this area at the Hotel Splendido (give it a moment to load). The location and grounds of this 5-star hotel are exceptional and we would suggest you take a moment to look at the hotel's website. In addition to the main hotel where we stayed there is the affiliated Splendido Mare located on the harbor. The first night we ate dinner at the main hotel and the second night we dined at Splendido Mare. Splendido also puts together an amazing breakfast, something we never missed.
